Where the Wind Goes
Directed by Everett Ravens
Jon Elmaleh has spent his life chasing the wind: on the pond, in the city, and in everything he builds. Where the Wind Goes, is a new short documentary directed by Everett Ravens and produced by Daydream Studios. The film invites viewers into the world of model-sailboat design and racing in New York City, revealing how one man’s passion becomes a meditation on opportunity, influence, and mastery. Once one of the top model sailboat racers in the world, Jon Elmaleh still spends his days at Conservatory Water in Central Park, sailing the pond’s shifting winds among a community of devoted racers. The film follows Jon as he reflects on decades of design, competition, and life in New York, finding in the shifting breeze a metaphor for resilience and acceptance. The wind changes direction in both sailing and life; what matters is how you adjust. Blending documentary intimacy with cinematic imagery, Where the Wind Goes captures a uniquely New York story, part character study, part philosophical reflection, about growth, craft, and adapting in an ever-changing world.
